Verdicts & Settlements

Here are some examples of past cases. Of course, every case is different and you should not assume that your case is exactly the same as any past case I have had.

Trial in Montgomery County. My client was 43 years old. She was in a serious motor vehicle accident on I-270. She had facial fractures including a jaw fracture. There was no settlement offer, but we were able to get a verdict of just over $250,000.

Trial in Harford County. My client was 45 years old. He was lying in a hospital bed when the bed collapsed beneath him, and he sustained injury. The cause was poor maintenance of the bed by the hospital staff. The case was filed against the local hospital and the jury awarded my client more than $600,000 which was the largest verdict in Harford County in an injury case at that time.

Trial in Baltimore County. My client was pregnant and was rear-ended by another motorist. Although there was no property damage to speak of, my client sustained carpal tunnel syndrome from the accident, and we were able, through the testimony of her hand surgeon and others, to link the carpal tunnel syndrome to the car accident.

Trial in Carroll County. My client was a horse dentist and sustained injury when the other vehicle crossed the center line and struck my client's car head on. He sustained damage to his neck and arm. The verdict of the jury was slightly over $50,000.

Settlement in Carroll County. My clients were on a motorcycle. A farm vehicle pulled from a farm into the roadway, taking away their right of way. Case was settled for $750,000.

Settlement in Baltimore City. My client received the wrong medication due to a doctor's error. She took the medicine and was injured. Case was settled for $150,000.

Settlement in Baltimore City. Very complex medical malpractice case, involving prescription error by one physician and surgical error by another. My client was very seriously injured and required many operations to repair the damage. Case was settled for $2.3 million.

I could go on and on. I have over 30 years of experience handling these cases for 32 years and have tried many cases and have settled many more. The important thing is to investigate fully every case and to maximize the recovery by the use of appropriate expert witnesses and through other techniques.
